How to apply
Before applying to the NEXUS program, check that you are eligible to join. Your participation in NEXUS is strictly voluntary. The information you provide in the completed form will be used to determine your eligibility. Refer to the Canadian and United States (U.S.) privacy statements for more information.
The non-refundable application processing fee for NEXUS is $50 (Can or US) for a five-year membership. Children under the age of 18 are free.
Each applicant, including children under 18, must complete a separate form.
Once the initial processing of your application is complete, you will receive a letter indicating whether you have been conditionally approved. If you have been conditionally approved, the letter will contain an invitation to schedule an interview at a NEXUS Enrolment Centre. Once you have completed your enrolment interview, a membership card will be mailed to the address listed on your application within two weeks.
If you submitted a paper application, you will receive your conditional approval letter by regular mail. If you applied online, you will be notified by email.
Online applications are processed in U.S. currency only. Applications submitted by paper may be processed in either Canadian or U.S. currency.
You can apply to NEXUS online using the Global Online Enrollment System (GOES), which is operated by U.S. CBP.
In the online application, some of the information requested is designated as optional. Your eligibility to participate in NEXUS is not affected by whether you provide the optional information.
You can complete the NEXUS paper application by downloading and filling out the form, printing it and mailing it together with the processing fee.
Note: U.S. citizens must send their paper application form to the Niagara Falls office.
